The Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model of supported employment is an evidenced based approach specifically tailored for people with a mental health difficulty. The aim of this particular model of supported employment is to assist clients with a mental health difficulty to obtain and/or retain their employment. Supports are provided to both the employer and employee to do so.


The Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model of supported employment is the most researched and empirically proven successful model of supported employment internationally to assist those with a mental health difficulty back into the workplace.

EmployAbility Mayo are the employment agency partner for the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) in Mayo working in partnership with the Mayo Mental Health Services. EmployAbility Mayo have been involved in this particular model of supported employment with the Mayo Mental Health Services since 2015.
